3Lab Super Cream $875Shop

As beauty editors, we get bombarded with a ton of new products every day (we know-tough life). Reviewed is a series where we report on some of the best products we've tried. Whether it's a drugstore lipstick that lasted all day or a hand cream that saved us this winter, you'll find all of our favorites in this column. Enjoy!

Let me start by saying I originally tried this product with a heavy dose of skepticism-the fact that it costs almost a grand a pop feels insane. But a fellow beauty editor called it "freaking fountain-of-youth, unicorn-tears magic," and I just couldn't help myself. To be honest, I was sort of trying it just to say it didn't work. Dear god, was I wrong.

What Is 3Lab Super Cream?

Here's the thing: The ingredients list is a bit mysterious. On the site, it lists the key ingredients as X-50 Anti-Aging Powder, Bio-Engineered Renewal Complex, Apple Stem Cell Technology, Alpha Melight, Osilift, and Dragon Blood. Even after my pretty extensive experience with skincare, those monikers leave me asking questions. To understand a bit better, I reached out to the brand for clarification.

"ITD stands for intelligent targeting device. 3LAB attained this technology from a pharmaceutical company in Barcelona, Spain, that creates chemo and radiation drugs. In the past, when someone would undergo chemo or radiation, it would not only kill the cancer cells but all the healthy cells. This pharmaceutical company came up with the X50-ITD technology to act like a GPS for the chemo and radiation drugs so it would only target the cancer cell-leaving the healthy cells untouched."

The brand continued, "3LAB's scientists applied the technology to target tired, stressed-out, and aged cells-only targeting the cells that need repair." After a bit of a closer look, I realize the majority of the ingredients that make up SuperВ Cream's formula are plant-based-there are plant stem cells, aloe leaf juice, flower extract, fruit extract, pea proteins, and bitter orange peel oil. That, coupled with super-hydrating properties like squalene, shea butter, and ceramides, makes this elixir practically magic.

The Takeaway

I started applying it about a month ago and didn't notice a huge difference in my skin. Because it incorporates dimethicone, a compound used in primers, it allows for makeup to apply smoothly on top of it. The thing is I don't wear makeup daily, and that's not a huge draw for me. I decided to stick it out throughout the entire jar to see if the results would shock me in the end.

I have a few more days left before it's all used up, and I can confidently tell you it works better than any moisturizer I've ever used. My skin glows-like, really glows-each day to the point where the compliments have been rolling in whether I'm wearing makeup or not. I just apply a tiny, pea-sized amount every morning and night at the end of my skincare routine. The texture of my skin has completely changed: My pores have vanished, my skin tone evened, and the burgeoning crows feet around my eyes have smoothed out. You see, this cream effectively targets and repairs your skin where it's needed. You can apply it over your problem areas and literally watch them disappear in a matter of weeks.

I wish I could tell you that spending $900 on this cream isn't worth it-but if you're planning on spending that much over time on skincare, it absolutely is. Yes, I know how crazy that statement sounds (I'm about as frugal as they come), but for now, this cream has made it so I rethink my decision to try Botox. Ultimately, to me, that's worth it.
